University Staff Recruitment System

Dotfive have been working alongside Loughborough University since 2006, when we were approached with a request to build an online recruitment portal for them.

THE PROJECT

The project goals were to make it easy for HR and management staff to post and manage vacancies, and to make it easy for candidates to apply for these positions. Being a large organisation, recruitment takes up a lot of time and money, and the intention was that the system would reduce the input and administration overhead required by HR staff.

As we had previously built a similar system for Tesco, Loughborough University knew that we could deliver what they wanted, and after getting the project proposal signed off we delivered the project on time and to budget. They rolled the system out and found zero bugs, which is a glowing testament to the quality that we strive for.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
  • Design and develop a brand new recruitment portal
  • Ensure that the portal is very easy to use for Loughborough University staff
  • Save Loughborough University time and money on their annual recruitment
THE SOLUTION

The project was a huge success, and managed to ensure that the entire initial acceptance criteria highlighted during the scoping stage were met. A considerable amount of time is now saved for each candidate and HR representative every time there is an application.

The new portal system will also allow for both parties (limited for non-HR representatives) to check reports to ascertain the most recent update in the recruitment lifecycle.

The new portal also resulted in a higher quality of service offered to applicants.
